In the centre of Kerala, where modernity and tradition frequently collide, a young woman named Salva Marjan from Perambra, Kozhikode, is about to make history.

In January 2025, Salva Marjan, a 25-year-old lover for motorsports, is scheduled to make history as the first female participant from Kerala in the esteemed Formula 1 Academy. The Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) is in charge of running the academy. In the search of better training and prospects, Salva Marjan recently relocated to the United Arab Emirates, where she is currently getting ready for the F1 Academy.

25-year-old Salva Marjan was born on July 24, 1999, into a loving family, but her journey wasn’t without difficulties. The obstacles of money and social expectations never went away. However, her parents supported her wholeheartedly and let her pursue her goals because they never placed boundaries based on a person’s gender.

“They were lectured on how to bring up girls, how girls were not supposed to take up such risks or be so independent. But my parents never differentiated between us based on our gender. Neither did they set any limits for me,” Salva revealed in an interview.

Marjan did her graduation in business administration.

Salva who is a Muslim by religion lives in Perambra in rural Kozhikode, Kerala and her family consists of her father, Chembra Panachingal Kunjamu, mother, Subaida, and siblings, Sahla, Sinan, and Sabith. Salva is a Business Management graduate and entered motorsports in 2018.

Legends like Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher ignited Salva Marjan’s love of racing from an early age. Her dreams were everything from modest, even though she was raised in a small village.

Salva acknowledged that pursuing her goals frequently leaves her physically and emotionally exhausted, which makes it difficult for her to connect with loved ones and strains her mind. She did, however, stress that the surge of adrenaline she gets from chasing her dreams gives her newfound energy and confidence in her eventual accomplishment.

Salva began her professional racing career in 2018 and showed her mettle right away. She started off racing Formula LGB in India and went on to race in the 2023 F4 Indian and F4 UAE championships. Her accomplishments have been astounding; out of 150 laps, she has completed 119 successfully in F4.

She started her Formula Racing career in India with Formula LGB racing at DTS Racing, a popular entry-level racing series and in 2023, she competed in both the F4 UAE championship and the F4 Indian championship.
