Rajasthan United (RUFC) have officially confirmed the signing of former West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino. Berahino is an experienced striker, and the club will be looking for a title challenge in the upcoming 2024-25 campaign.

Saido Berahino is a Burundian professional footballer who was born on August 4, 1993, in Bujumbura, Burundi. He recently joined I-League club Rajasthan United and currently serves as the captain of the Burundi national team. Saido mainly plays as a striker, and will look to lead his new club up from the front. Saido grew up in Birmingham where he received political asylum, after fleeing his native Burundi as a child.

Saido Berahino career
The Burundian national joins Rajasthan United as a free agent after his former club AEL Limassol, released him during the summer. He previously spent two years with Cyprus, where he scored four goals in 44 appearances across all competitions. Saido is most prominently known for his time with West Brom and Stoke City in the Premier League.
His made his breakthrough as a 20-year-old during the 2013-14 season for West Brom, scoring five goals across 32 Premier League appearances that season. He eventually went on to make 133 Premier League appearances for West Brom and Stoke. However, his time in the league came to an end following a drink and driving charge in May 2019. Following the incident, Stoke City terminated Berahino’s contract.
Saido Berahino then joined Belgian club Zulte Waregem, where he scored 10 goals in 34 matches across two years. He made a brief return to England in 2021 after signing with Sheffield Wednesday. Berahino made a total of 36 appearances and scored nine goals for the club. Berahino also made impressive performances on the international stage. He started out representing England at the U-17, U-19, and U-21 levels, where he scored 11 goals in 12 appearances.
