Sagarika Bhattacharya’s family and education
Sagarika Bhattacharya completed her studies at Calcutta University and St. Xavier’s college in Kolkata. She did her further studies at the Indian institute of social welfare and business Management, Kolkata, India. She did her bachelor of Science honors, master’s degree in computer software, master’s degree in business administration and management, and master’s in computer applications.
She belongs to a Brahmin family. Sagarika is married to Anurup Bhattacharya and they together have a son named Abhigyan who was born in 2008, presently his age is 16 years as of 2023. While their daughter’s name is Aishwarya and she was born in 2010, presently her age is 13 years as of 2023.
Sagarika got married to Anurup Bhattacharya, a geophysicist, and IT specialist, in December 2007. Avigyan reportedly developed “autism-like” symptoms in his early years and was placed in a family kindergarten near the family’s home and the family was under watch for months by the child welfare service. In May 2011, the authorities took away the couple’s children on the pretext of bad parenting and put them under foster care.
They raised objections to Sagarika hand-feeding the baby, equating it to force-feeding and also had problems with children sleeping on the same bed as their parents, They also put charges that Sagrika once slapped her toddler and the children didn’t have enough room to play in the house and had “unsuitable” clothes and toys before the child was eventually handed over in the care of Sagarika’s husband’s brother after intervention by the Indian government.
By then Anurup and Sagarika’s marriage ran through troubled waters and they separated and she had to undergo another round of legal battle, this time in India, to get custody of her children. She had alleged that her husband and her in-laws had falsely accused her of being mentally unstable and hence unfit to take care of the two children but in 2013, Sagarika was granted custody of her children by the court. She now spends a quiet and private life with her children in Kolkata, India.
Sagarika was born to Manatosh and her mother’s name is Shikha while she has 3 siblings named, Subhadip Chakraborty, Subhodip Chakraborty, and Sourav Chakraborty.

Sagarika Bhattacharya has served as a software developer for many companies based in Kolkata and in the state of West Bengal. Sagarika was further employed in software sales and development from July 2018 to November 2018 and later on worked as a Software Engineer at Microbase Infotech ltd.
From 2020 to 2021, she was a software engineer at Soha softech, and from July 2021 to November 2021 she worked in lee and nee exports. In late 2021 she joined Chetu, which is a well-known US-based Software Development Company.
She started collaborations with Vishwakarma publications which is a book publishing company based in Pune, Maharashtra as an author in 2019. Sagarika was also a part of 2022, Pune literary festival event.
