According to sources who talked to The New York Post, former Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant assisted in getting a suspected drug dealer released on bail after he was charged with shooting an NYPD officer during a Staten Island narcotics investigation.

According to the sources, Grant gave Nelson Pizarro the cash payment of $500,000 needed to secure the $5 million bond needed to release him after he shot Detective Dominick Libretti.

His Career
Grant played collegiate football at Notre Dame after representing his school in the sport. Although he was an undrafted free agent when he initially signed with the New York Giants in 2005, he never participated in a game for them.
