Jockey Rosie Jessop is lifting almost three times her own weight, putting men to shame.

The rider, who hails from Essex but serves as Bahrain’s sole female jockey, is an absolute machine in the weight room. The weight of jockeys must frequently be monitored because they live on a meagre diet in an effort to lose weight as quickly as possible.

However, Jessop, 33, appears to be able to indulge occasionally because she burns so many calories working out. Jessop just uploaded a video of herself performing a 147-pound deadlift while only weighing 52 kg.

An individual should be able to deadlift twice as much weight as they are. Jessop, though, is almost three times as powerful as she is. The ease with which she lifted 147 kg off the ground shows that she could easily lift 156 kg, which is three times her weight.

Lifting is Jessop’s second passion after racing, which she discovered through the renowned Sir Mark Prescott. She wrote to a lot of trainers when she was a young rider of 16, and the Arc-winning horseman surprised her with a response.

Dreaming of the future, she packed her luggage and left her house.

Jessop recalled making that risky decision by saying to GDN: “I just left home, had no friends or relatives there, and knew nobody at all. “However, I’m pleased I did since I ended up spending 13 years working for Sir Mark! I adored collaborating with him!

“Sir Mark would only let me visit Bahrain for around five months because that is roughly how long the racing season lasts here, and I was working full-time for him.

“I moved here in 2018 after being offered a really fantastic job. Racing is quite difficult in the UK. There are many jockeys, many travellers, and few horses.”

Rosie wants to be a jockey champion.

It is obvious that the gym is her second home if she currently resides in Bahrain. She is able to bench press more than 50 kg and squat 97.5 kg. She excels most in the deadlift, though, to the point where she has previously competed in powerlifting events.

She prioritises one objective over all others, though. She wants to become the first female jockey champion in Bahrain.
