The former basketball player, who’s Congolese-American tied the knot with his wife Rose in 1996.
Rose Mutombo, who’s a politician, lawyer and humanitarian from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, serves as the National President of the Permanent Consultative Framework for Congolese Women (CAFCO).
She is also known for serving the Lukonde government’s minister of justice and keeper of the seals.
As per a report by NBC News, the couple shared three biological kids, while according to the Chicago Tribune, the duo had adopted 4 kids who belonged to Dikembe’s deceased siblings.
Following in his father’s footsteps, the son of Rose and Dikembe, Ryan made a commitment to play basketball for Georgetown back in the year 2020. Ryan, who plays centre for the Georgetown Hoyas, is a tall 7-foot-2-inches.
Like his wife, Dikembe is also well-known for working as a humanitarian. In 1997, he established a foundation named ‘Dikembe Mutombo Foundation’ to raise the standard of living in the DR of Congo.
According to a report by NBC News, the foundation is a “multi-million dollar charity that seeks to improve health and education in one of the world’s poorest countries.”
In 2007, to honour his late mother, the former professional basketball player inaugurated the Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital in the Congo.
