Who Is Rolfi Ferreyra Cruz?
Nicknamed “Big Papi” David Américo Ortiz Arias, a Dominican-American former first baseman and designated hitter (DH) in Major League Baseball, was born on November 18, 1975, and played in the American League (AL) from 1997 to 2016, predominantly with the Boston Red Sox. Ortiz was shot on June 9, 2019, at around 8:50 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time, at the Dial Bar and Lounge in East Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
R. Ferreyra attempted to kill former Major League Baseball player David “Big Papi” Ortiz, Cruz gained attention in 2019. On Sunday in the Dominican Republic, Cruz, also the suspect in a 2017 theft in New Jersey, acknowledged shooting David Ortiz. According to Joshua Jongsma of the North Jersey Record, Cruz is suspected of being involved in two armed robberies that occurred in Clifton.
Clifton police announced the IDs of two suspects in a pair of holdups on December 22 in January 2018. While the other suspect turned himself into the police, Cruz managed to evade capture. According to Jongsma, Cruz might or might not be extradited to the US to face charges for his alleged involvement in the thefts in New Jersey. The shooting of Ortiz resulted in the detention of nine people, including Cruz, and on Wednesday, Dominican police announced at a news conference that they are examining the incident as an attempted assassination.
Eight additional criminals were sentenced to jail terms ranging from 5 to 20 years by the First Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo’s ruling. One of the three suspects who was cleared due to insufficient evidence was Victor Hugo Gomez Vasquez, the alleged attack’s planner. Ortiz was shot by shooter Cruz on June 9, 2019, in Santo Domingo. According to Dominican authorities, Sixto David Fernandez was the intended victim of the shooting. He was seated with Ortiz at a table in a Santo Domingo bar at the time of the shooting.
