During the day of the 9/11 attacks, Robert’s brother David was assigned to the South Tower, but he fortunately managed to survive.
However, the incident left Robert in a state of self retrospection and decided there that he wanted to live his life and pursue a career in football.

Robert Saleh is an American football coach who was born on 31 January 1979 in Dearborn, Michigan, United States. He currently works as the head coach for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He was born to parents of Lebanese descent.

Robert Saleh currently serves as the head coach of the New York Jets. Throughout his 20-year coaching career, he has mostly worked as defensive coach. He started out his career in 2005 working at various assistant coaching positions with the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Houston Texans up until 2020.
With the 49ers, he served as the defensive coordinator from 2017 to 2020. Following the end of the 2020 season, he resigned from the 49ers and joined the Jets as their head coach. Saleh participated in two Super Bowls and managed to won in one of them back in 2014 with the Seahawks.
