Priyanka Bharti’s path from a small Bihar village to national politics serves as a reminder of the difficulties that many young people in the nation confront. While attending JNU, Priyanka developed a growing interest in politics.

She became a member of the RJD’s student branch, the Chhatra Rashtriya Janata Dal (CRJD) and got heavily involved in campus politics after being inspired by the party’s philosophy and its leader, Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Born into a BPL Bahujan family in Bihar, age 27 Priyanka’s parents are both unemployed. Her father is paralysed and has two brothers. Her family falls in the BPL category. “It is difficult for us to make both ends meet every month. So, after class, I tutor schoolchildren German and use the money to fund my studies and expenses. I send the remaining money home,” she had said while talking about her family earlier.

Her younger brother was a student at EFLU and he too took tuitions. The names of her family members aren’t known though.

Priyanka Bharti was born in the Bihar village of Fatuha, which is close to Patna. Her father had a menial job dealing with paperwork before he became paralyzed with her family struggled financially. Priyanka was adamant about continuing her education in spite of all of these obstacles.

Bharti first stepped into JNU in 2016 for a Bachelors’ degree in German Studies from the School of Languages, Literature and Culture Studies. She was the president of Godavari hostel during her time in JNU.

After passing the exam, she chose to pursue her MA German degree at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. Priyanka’s life became significantly impacted by JNU, which is renowned for its political atmosphere. She developed her political views and objectives here.

Priyanka Bharti was the youngest candidate to run for president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) in 2019.

RJD leadership took notice of Priyanka’s involvement in student politics. The party appointed her as one of its spokespersons in recognition of her commitment.

Priyanka takes part in political conversations and debates as an RJD spokeswoman, concentrating on caste, gender, and social justice concerns. She challenges social norms and raises awareness of the difficulties faced by underrepresented groups by using her position.

One of Priyanka’s most memorable experiences was participating in a live debate on a news program involving India TV news anchor Meenakshi Joshi. Priyanka tore a copy of the Manusmriti during the argument, which caused a lot of controversy. While some condemned her behaviour, others viewed it as a daring protest against discrimination based on caste.

She is still in the early stages of her political career. She is at the forefront of discussions on significant social and political problems because of her position as an RJD spokesman.
