After allegedly shooting 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall in the chest on Saturday afternoon during an attempted robbery in central San Francisco, a juvenile suspect is currently being held. A statement from the team revealed that Pearsall, 23, was released from San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center on Sunday. Fair condition was how he had been listed.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, authorities said, Pearsall was alone, bringing shopping bags to his car on Geary Boulevard near Union Square when a suspect tried to rob him with a revolver.
Local police arrived quickly, gave the suspect emergency medical attention, and took him into custody.
The suspect, a male 17-year-old from Tracy, California, which is roughly 60 miles east of San Francisco, was identified by the police and taken to San Francisco General. His health status wasn’t made public right away.
