Raymond Boodarian identified as main suspect in Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca murders

Authorities have reportedly identified Raymond Boodarian as the main suspect in the double murder of Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca. According to reports, Raymond entered the victims’ home through an unlocked door while they were away and confronted them after they returned. The LAPD reported that Boodarian allegedly shot both victims multiple times before making a run.

Following the shooting, officers responded to a welfare check on July 8 and discovered both Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca dead in their six-bedroom home, located on White Oak Avenue in Encino. Authorities reportedly found blood on the front door when they arrived around 2:30 PM local time. They eventually managed to identify Boodarian with the help of surveillance footage and neighborhood reports.

70-year-old Robin Kaye was a longtime music supervisor for “American Idol” and had worked on nearly 300 episodes between 2009 and 2023. Meanwhile, her husband, Thomas Deluca, who was also 70, worked as a veteran singer-songwriter. As of now, reports indicate that the couple had no known connection to Boodarian.

Age 22 Boodarian was apprehended without incident on the afternoon of July 15, 2025, through a joint operation involving LAPD’s Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide unit, Gang and Narcotics Division, and the FBI Fugitive Task Force.

He was booked on suspicion of murder (California Penal Code 187) and remains in custody and limited personal background on Boodarian is publicly available at this stage. He is described as a local Encino resident with no apparent ties to the entertainment industry.

According to authorities, Boodarian has no known connections with the two victims and the exact reason behind the murders remains unknown.

Raymond Boodarian is a 22-year-old resident of Encino, Los Angeles, who was recently arrested as the main suspect in a double murder case. Boodarian lived just a few blocks away from his victims’ home and police say that he has no known personal or professional relationship with either Robin Kaye or Thomas Deluca. His ethnicity, nationality and family details haven’t been revealed yet.

As of now, details about his background, mental health history, or potential criminal record are extremely limited but he is believed to have a previous record. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the crime and determining whether Boodarian acted alone and while the murder weapon is yet to be recovered, it is believed to be a handgun. Robbery has been ruled out as a motive with nothing stolen after the murders.

Boodarian was arrested at his home in the LA neighborhood of Encino without incident after police found Kaye and Deluca, both 70, with gunshot wounds to the head. The couple had not been seen for several days and officers discovered them during a welfare check at the $4.5 million home in the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue.
