A Bengaluru-based Professor Ravindranatha of Manipal University is making headlines as he was suspended from the Institute after calling a Student as a “Terrorist”
According to a report by The Print, a professor of the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) which is located in Udupi district, has been suspended after a footage of him went viral online.
Although the issue had been sorted out within the institute after the professor apologized to the student, however, the professor was suspended and a probe against him was issued after the video went viral.

As per the reports, MIT has debarred the Professor from taking any further classes until an enquiry regarding the issue has been over.
In the video, which is making rounds on the internet, a student can be seen questioning the Assistant Professor for his unsavoury comment.
The latter seems to be clarifying his comment that he stated it in a humorous tone. The entire incident took place on Saturday, November 26.
The professor seemed to be apologizing and saying that the student was like his son. To which the student replied, “No, if a father says like that, it’s on him. It’s not funny.”
He further added, “Will you talk like that to your son? Will you call him a terrorist? How can you call me like that in front of so many people? This is a class, you’re professional, and you’re teaching. You can’t call me that.”
After a clip of the incident found its ways on social media, the Institute had ordered a probe against the Professor.
In an earlier interview, the Director of Public Relations at the Manipal University, SP Kar, stated that, “We condemn such kind of incidents as we are an institute that believes in sarwa dharma (equal respect to all religions) and vasudhaiva kutumbakam (one world, one family).
Kar further added that, “Appropriate action is being taken on this issue and we are doing the needful. Counselling is being given to the student, and the professor has been suspended from the college.”
However, as of now, the preliminary information about how the conversation between the student and professor started to the point of confrontation isn’t revealed.
As per the statement given by the SP Kar, the incident was reported to took place last week.
