Rapper Naezy discussed feeling success and going through a downturn in an exclusive conversation with media before entering the show. Speaking about his life’s path, Neazy revealed that he was raised in a difficult neighbourhood and hails from a relatively humble home.

30-year-old Rapper Naezy real name Naved Shaikh was born on August 10, 1993, in Kurla, Mumbai and is a Muslim by religion. He is 5 ft 7in tall. Farhin Raza is his mother, and Shahid Raza is his father. He was raised in the Ram Bachan Chawl which is situated in the Mumbai suburb of Kurla.

His father was employed overseas, therefore his mother raised him as a problematic child primarily. After completing his T.Y.BSC at Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Matunga, he created The Schizophrenics collective with his rapper friend Neykhil Naik, also known as NCube.

He is single and unmarried and has a net worth of Rs.1-10 crore.

Rapper Naezy career

In 2014, Naezy made his music video debut with a video called “Aafat!” utilising an iPad. Released in 2014, Naezy’s first single “Aafat!” is considered as the origin of the gully rap trend. In 2015, he collaborated with DIVINE on their breakthrough smash song, “Mere Gully Mein.” The song helped raise awareness of the Mumbai rap scene and ultimately paved the way for DIVINE and Naezy’s breakthrough.

A documentary about his life, named Bombay 70 (the 70 denoting Kurla West’s area code), was made on him after the song’s debut. Disha Rindani, an independent filmmaker, directed Bombay 70. In 2014, the documentary won the MAMI award for best short film.

Director Zoya Akhtar was drawn to their music and used it as inspiration to create Gully Boy, a film starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt that is about the Mumbai rap culture. The film is loosely based on the lives of DIVINE and Naezy who were consulted for the rap aspects of the film.

“Mere Gully Mein” was remade for the film. In this version, Singh’s character takes over Naezy’s part. Singh re-recorded Naezy’s verse for the film. He became the first rapper to be a featured artist on the Indian music streaming platform JioSaavn. He was also featured on the Song “NY se Mumbai” with DIVINE, Singh and American rapper Nas, who also served as an executive producer.

To raise awareness among young people, rapper Naezy wants to make “conscious hip-hop” music, which touches on sociopolitical themes. Azaad Hu Mein, “Tragedy Mein Comedy,” and “Haq Hai” are a few of his songs that address politics and problems that the average person encounters.
