Although the news of BG’s early release has surely excited the hip-hop community, whether or not the news is true hasn’t been confirmed.
Birdman’s Plea
Rapper Birdman apparently made a recent request for Baby Gangsta’s (BG) compassionate release earlier this year in July. Birdman wrote a letter to US District Judge Susie Morgan, stating how his release would bring about a positive impact on society.
He explained in the letter how said BG can bring a positive influence on society by sharing about his experiences. Besides Birdman, many other public figures and celebrities also signed the plea. However, the judge rejected the plea, which is now a second time appeal.
Authorities still haven’t confirmed Birdman’s recent news about the early release of BG. The rapper made some similar claims back in September 2020, which turned out to be false.
Rapper BG Arrest Date And Charges
Christopher Noel Dorsey, popularly known by his stage name BG, was arrested on charges of illegal possession of guns and tampering with witnesses. The arrest occurred back in 2011.
Back in the 2009, the Rapper was reportedly driving in his car back from his girlfriend’s home in Uptown New Orleans when cops stopped him and conducted a search.
During the search, cops found three guns, out of which two were proven to be stolen. This resulted in the authorities sending off BG to the Orleans Parish Jail, on charges of possessing illegal weapons.
However, when authorities brought BG to court, he proceeded to deny the allegations. However, the judge convicted BG of 14 years in jail, back in July 2012.
A Troubled Childhood
The now 42-year-old rapper had a troubled childhood where he faced various problems. Following his father’s death, BG linked up with drug dealers at 15 before eventually getting addicted to heroin.
