Following the event, all police officers were put on administrative leave and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and cruelty to people. The cops in inquiry are Luis Rivera, Ronald Pressley, Jocelyn Lavandier, Sergeant Betsy Segui, and the van’s driver, Oscar Diaz.

On June 19, Randy Cox was transported to a police station in New Haven to be investigated on a weapons charge. However, when the cop driving the van had to press the brakes to prevent a collision, Randy Cox was launched head-first into the back doors of the vehicle.

When Cox requested the cops for assistance, they refused because they believed he was intoxicated and fabricating his injuries. He was then removed from the van by dragging with his feet and taken to a holding area. Finally, he was transported to a medical facility.
