She did her schooling at Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun and Oldrey Fleming School (SLP). Later, she went to London where she studied at the Oldrey Fleming School and became a qualified speech pathologist.
After returning to India, she attended Miranda House of Delhi University and got her BA degree in English literature there. Later, for an MA degree, she attended The New School. For higher studies, she went to New York University for studying broadcasting journalism.
She is married and her spouse is Prannoy Roy. They both have one daughter named Tara Roy.

Radhika Roy started her career as a journalist at The Indian Express, where she worked in the editing department. Later on, she started working as a news coordinator for India Today magazine.
