Rangaswamy Dhruvanarayana’s height was approximately 5 feet 8 inches and his weight was approximately 70 kg as of 2023. He finished his education in degree in B.Sc. (Agriculture), and M.Sc. (Agriculture) from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore.
Dhruvanarayana died due to cardiac arrest on 11th March 2023 at the age of 62 years. He took his last breath in a hospital located in Mysuru. Rangaswamy Dhruvanarayana was married to Veena and had 2 sons. Rangaswamy’s mother’s name was Sidamma and his father was Shri Rangaswamy.

Rangaswamy started his career journey in politics being a student leader. In early 1983, Rangaswamy joined Congress as a party worker. In 1984, he held the position of the president of the students’ union of Agriculture College, Hebbal, based in Bangalore. In the same year, Rangaswamy was also president of the National Students Union of India, in the city of Bangalore.
In 1986, Rangaswamy went on to work as general secretary of the Karnataka State Youth Congress. In 1999, Rangaswamy competed at his first Vidhan Sabha elections from the Santhermarahalli Constituency, and unfortunately, he lost. In 2004, further, he contested from the same constituency and he won by a margin of a single vote defeating JD candidate A.R. Krishnamurthy.
Rangaswamy Dhruvanarayana contested the Vidhan Sabha elections in 2018 from the Kollegal constituency and he won by a margin of 11,800 votes. Later he was elected in the 15th Lok Sabha from the Chamarajanagara constituency with a margin of 4,020 votes.
Once again during the elections held in 2014, Rangaswamy was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament with a margin of a total of 141,182 votes. In 2019, he lost to Srinivasa Prasad in the 17th Lok Sabha elections by a total of 12,716 votes.
