Earlier this year, 21-year-old Siddhi Maheshwari of Bibwewadi, Pune, a student of computer science at a university in Pune, started making short-form videos to help young people understand artificial intelligence. Because of their comedy, and aesthetic appeal, her reels which imaginatively teach difficult subjects like machine learning, neural networks, and ethical AI have rapidly garnered popularity.
Siddhi comes from a household where her father owns a real estate company and her mother stays at home as a housewife. Siddhi always wanted to do something different, even though her father first urged her to pursue architecture, which led her to enroll in an architecture program in Pune, where she is currently in her last year.
Siddhi first encountered artificial intelligence (AI) in 2024 while completing coursework in a computer-related subject. At the time, AI was still a relatively new idea in India. Motivated, she started making and posting social media clips that demonstrated the practical applications of AI.
