NCB officials said that Sadiq made large sums of money from drug trafficking, which he cleverly put into a variety of businesses to hide his illegal activity, including hospitality, building, and film. The network connected nations like Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand to India.
Following the discovery of 50 kg of pseudoephedrine in New Delhi—a precursor needed to make methamphetamine—Jaffer Sadiq was taken into custody. The NCB disclosed that throughout the previous three years, 45 shipments totaling 3500kg of pseudoephedrine were sent to other nations by Sadiq’s cartel.

In 2019, Jaffar Sadiq, his brother Mohammed Salim & few others were caught under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
