According to media reports, Pragya Misra has been named the Head of Government Relations for OpenAI, the company that is the developer of ChatGPT. The 39-year-old has had a past connection to Truecaller.

Mishra’s hiring underscores the AI company’s attempts to fight for favourable regulations as governments throughout the world explore how to regulate the quickly evolving technology.
The Microsoft-backed startup has not yet made the appointment public, according to a report.
Age 39 Pragya Misra will start a new chapter in her career with OpenAI at the end of April. At the generative-AI startup, she will oversee partnerships and public policy activities in India.
Since July 2021, Pragya Misra has held the position of Director of Public Affairs at the contact verification startup Truecaller. She had to collaborate extensively with investors, important stakeholders, government agencies, and media partners as part of her job. She spent three years working at Meta Platforms before to joining Truecaller.
Misra oversaw WhatsApp’s 2018 battle against false information from this location. Notably, the news outlet stated that she was WhatsApp’s first employee in India.
In addition, Misra hosts the Pragyaan Podcast. She extends an invitation to visitors and discusses a variety of subjects, such as awareness and meditation. Misra describes herself as a Heartfulness Meditation Trainer on her Instagram bio. In addition, she plays golf, and between 1998 and 2007 she is said to have represented India in a number of international competitions.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Misra received her MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the International Management Institute in 2012 and has also had positions at Ernst & Young and the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi.
She received her degree in business from Delhi University. As part of her academic journey, Misra also studied for a Diploma in Bargaining and Negotiations at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
She completed her Bachelor’s of Commerce from the Delhi University.
