Earlier reports suggested that Nikitin Dheer was being selected to portray Ravan, with Shilpa Saklani and Arav Chaudhry chosen to depict Kaikeyi and King Dashrath in the mythological show.

The latest update reveals that Sujay Reu will play the role of Lord Ram, while Prachi Bansal is cast as Goddess Sita. Interestingly, Sujay previously portrayed Bharata in “Siya Ke Ram,” which concluded in November 2016 after a one-year run.
Who is Prachi?
According to a source associated with “Shrimad Ramayan,” “The producers were determined to cast actors without preconceived notions for the roles of Ram and Sita. After careful consideration, they found Sujay and Prachi to be perfect for the parts and aligned with their vision for the Ramayan.
The shoot is set to commence soon in Umbergaon.” Apart from “Siya Ke Ram,” Sujay has been part of Siddharth’s family drama “Hum Rahein Na Rahein Hum” and “Shastri Sisters.”
On the other hand, Prachi played the lead character in the second season of “Thapki Pyar Ki 2” and was last seen as Goddess Ganga in Tewary’s “Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Tandav.”
Career
For those unfamiliar, Prachi Bansal is recognized for her roles in “Raahi” (2023), “Thapki Pyar Ki 2” (2021), and “Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Taandav” (2023). Regarding the remaining cast, for upcoming series, Nikitin was last seen in “Naagin 3,” marking his return to television after over four years.

Shilpa, joining the show after four years, previously appeared in “Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal” and participated in an episode of “Bigg Boss 14” in 2020. She, like Sujoy and Prachi, has previously worked with Siddharth in “Mahakali – Anth Hi Aarambh Hai.”
Earlier, Shilpa was chosen as the replacement for Jigyasa Singh in the lead role of “Thapki Pyar Ki 2.” In an exclusive interview, she discussed the challenges of stepping into Jigyasa’s shoes, the trolling she faced, and the support she received from co-actors and the director.
The actress expressed her long-standing desire to play a lead role, stating, “I was prepared to do a lead role and was waiting for an opportunity for a long time. The moment this opportunity came my way, I grabbed it with both hands.”
Speaking about her co-stars, Prachi praised them and highlighted the support she received from the director, “Everyone on the sets is nice and helpful. They gave me a warm welcome, knowing that Thapki, as a character, is very difficult to play due to her stammering.”
