Following the issuance of a look-out order against them, Assamese actor and choreographer Sumi Borah and her husband Tarkik Borah turned themselves in to the police in relation to the Rs 2,200-crore stock trading scandal in Assam.
Influencer Sumi Borah, who is also on social media, made a video before giving up to vent her anger about what she called a “media trial.” She clarified that she had been in hiding rather than evading capture.

Sumi Borah refuted most of the allegations in her video statement, saying that “not even 10%” of them were accurate. She clarified that she hadn’t spoken up because she had experienced harassment and wasn’t emotionally ready to do so. She did, however, indicate that she would be willing to assist the police.
Tarkik Borah was born on 27 February and while his DOB isn’t known he is between 30-35 years old. He is 5ft 7in tall. He did his bachelor’s in accounting and finance from Delhi University and later did his master’s in marketing from Tezpur University. Tarkik has two siblings namely Amlan and Priyam.
He is the owner of Tarkik Borah Photography based in Guwahati and has been working since 2014 and has covered more than a 800 weddings with him charging Rs.75,000 for candid photography per day and Rs.45,000 for a pre wedding shoot. After avoiding arrest for ten days, Sumi Borah and Tarkik Borah turned themselves in to the Dibrugarh Police. They were apparently hiding in Teok, Jorhat, Assam, along with Sumi Borah’s brother Rajib Borah and sister-in-law, who had also been evading capture.
Bishal Phukan, is said to have given Sumi Borah Rs 20 crore. Phukan reportedly paid for the Borahs’ Rajasthani wedding last year. It’s said that Phukan spent a lot of money on her.
