Who is Petr Kratky?
Petr Kratky is a Czech professional football manager and former player who was born on October 8, 1981 in Prostejov, Czech Republic. He is the manager of Mumbai City, an Indian Super League team. The 42-year-old stands 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in).
A look at Petr Kratky’s career
Petr Kratky had a great 15-year playing career as a right back for some of the best Czech clubs, notably Mlada Boleslav and Slovan Liberec, before finishing his career with Heidelberg United in Australia.
Having previously worked as Melbourne City’s development coach, Kratky was elevated to the position of Assistant Coach in October 2021. In 2021–22 and 2022–23, he assisted as an assistant coach in leading the squad to back-to-back A-League Men’s Premiers crowns.
He worked as an assistant to managers Patrick Kisnorbo, Rado Vidosic, and Aurelio Vidmar during his career. Throughout his seven-year tenure with Melbourne City, Kratky developed and coached a number of young players from his development team, paving the route for them to play senior football.
After previous manager Des Buckingham left the team in the middle of the season to join Oxford United of the EFL League One, Kratky was named the new head coach of Mumbai City on December 9, 2023.
