Young took a brief summer try-out before joining Posh. After a long tenure at the Arsenal Academy, he was released. In the most recent 3-0 League One loss at Wigan, he was benched, but last night he was able to celebrate a debut in style.
Young, Kamara, and Olivier Rose did not get a night off as they all started for Posh Under 21s on Wednesday afternoon in a Professional Development League match against Burnley, having made an appearance as first-team substitutes the previous evening.

Tyler told the Posh Plus service following the game on Tuesday night that he was nominated for the Man of the Match award. He said, โIt was a great experience. I didnโt expect to get so many minutes. I thought I might get 10/15 but when the gaffer [Darren Ferguson] told me I was going on I made sure I was ready. It was my professional debut which is a big thing, but it really just felt like a normal game of football to me.โ

Young is the son of Ashley Young, an Everton footballer currently on loan from Aston Villa and Manchester United. Compared to his son, the 39-year-old senior has made 720 more senior appearances.
Following Tyler’s Peterborough debut, his father posted a number of photos to social media. He highlighted that this moment cannot be adequately explained to people by pride alone. He is happy for his sonโs first-ever success.
