On Thursday, Pat Bertoletti won the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest by downing 58 hot dogs, defeating the previous champion.
Bertoletti triumphs in the middle of the nation’s Independence Day celebration with 13 participants around him.
He also came over his personal best record of 55 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Bertoletti declared he had lost weight and trained “with an urgency” for three months to be ready for Thursday’s competition because he was certain he would win, as per a report in wbaltv.com.

Patrick “Deep Dish” Bertoletti is an American competitive eater who recently won the first title of Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Patrick Bertoletti, 26, from Chicago, snagged the men’s title by eating 58 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the Mustard Belt, while Miki Sudo, 38, ate 51 hot dogs, setting a new women’s record.

Bertoletti is a graduate of Morgan Park Academy and a Chicago resident and bettered his previous record of 55.
He graduated from Morgan Park Academy and Kendall College.
He competes in several different eating contests; two of his major victories are from the 2024 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and the inaugural Toronto poutine eating challenge.
In addition to these other honors, he holds the world record for the largest amount of milk consumed in one hour.
On January 2, 2007, he became the first person to complete the Sasquatch Burger Contest at Bigfoot Lodge Cafe in Memphis, Tennessee.
After eating forty-nine hot dogs and buns, he placed third in the 92nd annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, which took place on July 4, 2007, in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York.
Patrick placed third in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4, 2012, having eaten 51 HDB in ten minutes.
Bertoletti returned to Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest after a ten-year break, coming in fifth place with 33.5 HDB devoured in ten minutes.
