The incident occurred at Covenant School, a private Christian school, and involved now-dead Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old transgender woman, who killed three adult staff members and three children, including Hallie.

While the shooting may seem like a mass shooting, recent reports suggest that the shooter may have specifically targeted Scruggs and his family. Jim Bachmann, a former Covenant School pastor, revealed that attacker Hale had been receiving counseling from Scruggs and appeared to be searching for him during the attack.

Who is Chad Scruggs?
Chad Scruggs is an American pastor. He has been in the news because he lost his daughter, Hallie, in the recent Nashville school shooting.
He is from Hendersonville, Tennessee. However, he is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee.
Chad Scruggs did his schooling at Beech High School. Later, he attended the University of Tennessee. He also studied at Covenant Theological Seminary. He is married, and his wife’s name is Jada Scruggs.
They both have four children together, including Hallie. Apart from her daughter, who passed away recently, they also have three sons named 16-year-old John Randall, 14-year-old Charlie, and 12-year-old Carter. While his DOB isn’t known, Chad is aged between 35-45 years.
His career
Chad Scruggs is the current head pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church, located in Nashville, Tennessee. Prior to this, he served as an associate pastor at Park Cities Presbyterian Church (PCPC) in Dallas, Texas, for five years, beginning the same year his daughter Hallie was born.
After leaving PCPC, he moved over 600 miles to Nashville to assume his current position. Alongside his pastoral duties, he was also a campus minister at the Reformed University Fellowship located at Southern Methodist University.
