An employee of a hedge fund with an education from Oxford University, George Farmer is 31 years old. His father, Michael Stahel Farmer, aka Baron Farmer, is a former Conservative Party treasurer. Although George’s interest in politics was evident through his service as chairman of the right-wing political movement Turning Point UK from April 2018 to April 2019, he studied religion. The Parler was also co-founded and funded by an American heiress Rebekah Mercer. The phrase “Parler,” which means “to speak” in French, is where the company’s name originates.
According to a February 2021 Washington Post report, 48-year-old Mercer owned the majority of Parler when Matze resigned from his position as CEO in 2021. Mercer had control over two of the board’s three members. We can expect that she is the owner.
