However, the operation cost the lives of five army personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Army verified that during the fierce gunfight, terrorists engaged in the standoff also suffered injuries.
A spokesperson for the Army in Jammu reported that joint operations commenced on November 19 in the Gulabgarh forest, located in the Kalakote region. These actions were a reaction to particular intelligence that suggested there were terrorists in the region.
The situation escalated on November 22 when the security forces engaged with the insurgents, triggering a fierce and prolonged battle. Among those who sacrificed their lives, one is Paratrooper Sachin Laur.

Who was Sachin Laur?
Sachin Laur was an Indian Army soldier. He has been in the news because he attained martyrdom while fighting with terrorists during an encounter that happened in Rajouri.
He is from the Uttar Pradesh hamlet of Nagariya Gorla, which is near the Tappal police station in Aligarh. His father’s name is Ramesh Chandra, and he is a farmer, whereas his mother’s name is Bhagwati Devi, who is a housewife. Sachin also has one brother named Vivek.
On March 20, 2019, he enlisted in the army and progressed to become a commando in the Special Forces. He was assigned to the Para II Regiment in Rajouri.
When Sachin Laur gave his life while performing his job, he was 24 years old. Ever since, grief has enveloped his whole community. On leave, he was scheduled to travel home for his December 8 wedding.
The town is currently waiting for Sachin’s mortal remains to arrive rather than celebrating his marriage. In honor of Sachin’s bravery while performing his job, the burial ceremonies will be held with military honors.
