For the unversed, the glamorous Paraguayan swimmer’s participation in the Paris 2024 Games ended after she failed to advance past the women’s 100m butterfly heats.
And she now will not be allowed to stay in the Athletes’ Village for the remainder of the Games.
As per local media, Alonso spent a night out in Paris and visited Disneyland instead of supporting her teammates.
Furious team officials ordered her to fly home as a punishment and released a statement regarding the same.

What Did the Paraguayan Olympic Committee Say?
A statement from the Paraguayan Olympic Committee boss Larissa Schaerer read, “Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay.
“We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes’ Village.”
As of now, the 20-year-old has not commented on her departure from the Athletes’ Village. However, she did announce her retirement after narrowly missing qualification for the semi-final by just 0.24 seconds.
Alonso went viral after getting a tattoo of the Olympic rings on her hip.

Taking to Instagram, after the race, Alonso told her 310,000 followers that she is “retiring from swimming,” while thanking everyone for “the support.” In addition, she revealed that she is emotional as “it was my last race.”
