Who is Gadadhar Sahu?
Gadadgar Sahu has just won a good medal at the Khelo India Para Games at the age of 29 years old. The athlete hails from Narendrapur, in the Ganjam District of Odisha.
This was not his first time winning the gold medal. In the 2016 “Mr. Odisha Junior Bodybuilding Competition,” he first took home a gold medal in the wheelchair division. The athelet has been training four hours without skipping a day to bring the best out of him alongside helping his brother in the business.
Gadadhar Sahu experienced a terrifying event that nearly took his life. He was travelling from Odisha to Surat, Gujarat, when he had a serious mishap during train deboarding, which resulted in an incorrect diagnosis of his death.
He had severe injuries that required amputation of his legs, but the medical team didn’t find his pulse until he was being taken to the mortuary. After the terrible accident, Sahu remained resilient and determined, refusing to give up and proved his success.
The time when this tragic happened, he was just 13 years old and was in 7th class. After the event, he had no other options for a regular life and helped his brother run a fast-food shop in their birthplace of Narendrapur, Odisha.
