Sundar Singh Gurjar bio

Sundar Singh Gurjar is an Indian Paralympic athlete who was born on January 1, 1996, in Rajasthan. He is currently 28 years old, and competes in the javelin throw event as well as in shot put and discus throw in the F46 category events. Sundar notably won a bronze medal during the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in the menโ€™s javelin throw F46 event. He recently won a bronze at the ongoing 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris.

Career and achievements

Sundar Singh Gurjar competed in his first international event at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, where he threw 59.36m. Sundar set a new national record with a 68.42m throw during the 16th Para Athletics National Championship in Panchkula. He then went on to win three gold medals in javelin throw, shot put and discus throw during 9th FAZZA IPC Athletics Grand Prix.

Sundar then competed at the Asian Para Games 2018, where he won a silver medal in javelin throw and bronze medal in discus throw. The following year, in 2019, he won a gold medal at the 9th World Para Athletics Championships. As a result, he won two World Championships medals.

The 28-year-old then set a world record at the 16th Para Athletics National Championship in Panchkula, where he won three gold medals across three events. Sundar also took part in the 2020 Summer Paralympics, where he won a bronze medal in the men’s javelin throw. Sundar notably won the Arjuna Award for para-athletics.
