The Indian-descent billionaire couple, 56 year old Pankaj and Radhika Oswal became the owners of one of the top 10 most expensive and extravagant homes in the world.
The Swiss mansion, “Villa Vari,” was valued at $200 million (Rs. 1,649 crores) and was designed by Jeffery Wilkes. It is the largest property in Canton of Vaud and is located in the Swiss village of Gingins, only 15 minutes from the lakeside city of Geneva.
In addition to this villa, Wilkes also designed some of the most significant Indian properties, including the Oberoi Rajvilas, Oberoi Udaivilas, and Leela Hotel. He has extensively refurbished the mansion’s interior.
This one-of-a-kind country retreat is as luxurious as it is grandiose, spanning 40,000 square metres and offering a magnificent view of the snow-capped Mt. Blanc mountain range. It oozes grandeur from every angle and is the pinnacle of splendour.
The Oswals have kept their ties to their ancestry by incorporating Vaastu ideas.

The power couple have lived in Switzerland for the past 10 years with their talented daughters, Vasundhara, 24, and Ridi, 18. The Villa Vari name comes from their daughter’s combined names, Va and Ri.
Vasundhara, who earned a distinction in finance, went on to become an executive director at PRO Industries and Axis Minerals. Ridi is a chemical engineering student at a university in London. She is also a successful singer-songwriter in the Indo-Western pop genre.
The multibillion-dollar global conglomerate “Oswal Group Global” is home to several companies. They include “PRO Industries PTE LTD,” which also owns the largest modern ethanol plant in East Africa, “Axis Minerals,” which is involved in one of West Africa’s largest bauxite mining projects; and “Burrup Fertilisers,” which is based in Australia and produces the most liquid ammonia in the world.
Outside of business, the family’s goal was to renovate “Villa Vari” into a grand mansion that honoured their Indian ancestry.
