Mawra Hocane shocked her fans on February 5, 2025, by posting romantic pictures from her nikah ceremony with Ameer Gilani as she gave the finest confirmation of the buzz. Mawra looked stunning in the pictures wearing a pastel mint blue lehenga with red and purple accents on the kali. Her bridal look was further enhanced by the dupatta she wore over her head and the distinctive choli design she incorporated into her lehenga.
32-year-old On September 28, 1992, Mawra Hocane was born in Karachi, Sindh, as Mawra Hussain to Mushtaq Hussain and Razia Makhdoom in a Muslim family. She is 5ft 9in tall. Her brother-in-law is actor Farhan Saeed, and her older sister is actress Urwa Hocane.
In order to give her family name a distinctive spelling, Hocane altered it from “Hussain” to “Hocane” in seventh grade. She completed her legal degree at the Institute of Legal Studies, Islamabad. Then,, she attended Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design.
Mawra Hocane career
Prior to working as a VJ at ARY Musik, Mawra Hocane was a theatre performer. Hocane starred in Nikhar Gaye Gulab Sare, Ik Tamanna Lahasil Si, and Aahista Aahista, three Pakistani television serial dramas.
She played the title character of Bushra in ARY Digital’s Mein Bushra in 2014, portraying her as a strong and capable daughter of a strict father. The project was one of Hocane’s favorites. Hocane debuted in Hindi cinema alongside Harshvardhan Rane in the love drama Sanam Teri Kasam. She debuted in Pakistani cinema in 2018 as Fahad Mustafa’s co-star in the romantic comedy Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
She starred in the historical drama Aangan, which was based on the same-titled novel by Khadija Mastoor, from 2018 to 2019. Hocane played a strong young woman who witnesses sour encounters with men’s affection. She portrayed a victim of marital r*pe and domestic abuse in the 2021 film Qissa Meherbano Ka.
In 2023, she played Zimal Riyasat, a resolute philanthropist, in Neem. In 2024, Hocane made her acting debut in the comedy Let’s Try Mohabbat, playing a newlywed bride who alters her in-laws’ viewpoints upon her arrival. She presently plays Dr. Zara, a gynecologist in Jafaa, who is dealing with her unhappy marriage.
