Following a practice session before of an ITF junior tournament, Zainab Ali Naqvi, a young Pakistani tennis player, collapsed in her room and died from what appeared to be a heart attack.

According to reports, Zainab passed out in her home’s bathroom after rehearsing before an ITF competition. She was getting ready for the tournament’s second round after winning the opener at the ITF Juniors Khawar Hyatt Memorial Tournament in Islamabad.
PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq has announced that the ITF J30 in Islamabad next week will be called the Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial in order to honour the 17-year-old tennis player who passed away today due to a cardiac arrest. A court will also be named after her.

But there were worries given her extended absence. They tried calling her, but they couldn’t get through and because of this, the door was forced open by the authorities, who found a disturbing scene.
When the teenage tennis player fainted, her grandmother went to the hospital right away to get help for her however, it was too late and the teenager was announced dead. PTI was told by a top PTF official:
It is very sad because Zainab was a very promising player on the women’s circuit and enthusiastically working hard to win the ITF junior competitions.”
The police who is handling the incident stated that Zainab was not alive when she reached Kulsum International Hospital hospital.
Zainab’s body was then shifted to the PolyClinic for autopsy before it was flown to Karachi and the real cause of death will be determined the in autopsy report but it apparently seems that it was a heart failure due to showering immediately after a hectic practice session.
