However, the series also provided insight into the prisoner who made a failed attempt to murder serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and is still standing by his actions 30 years later, saying he would do it all again if gets the opportunity.
Months before fellow prisoner Christopher Scarver killed the famed Milwaukee Monster in 1994, Osvaldo Durruthy, 65, tried to kill Jeffrey Dahmer by slashing his neck with a sharp knife.
He was again found guilty as a result of the failed attack, which resulted in a five-year prison extension. However, he revealed that he was always motivated to murder the notorious killer and cannibal in an interview with Daily Mail three decades later, and he added that he doesn’t regret what he did.

Who Is Osvaldo Durruthy?
Osvaldo Durruthy is a Cuban-born refugee. He is renowned for trying to kill the infamous cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer who murdered 17 men or boys between 1978 to 1991.
He is originally from Cuba but later his land because of the 1980 mass exodus of Cubans. He later came to the USA, as a part of Mariel’s boatlift and eventually became a refugee.
After being let free in 1991, he was taken into custody once more seven months later. This time, he was found guilty and sentenced to 31 years in jail for having more than 2 kilos of cocaine and a firearm with the intent to distribute. In Waupun, Wisconsin, he was sentenced to time in jail.
In 1992, Dahmer started his sentence at the same time at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, which is located 40 miles distant.
Why He Tried To Kill Jeffrey Dahmer?
Osvaldo Durruthy was aware of Dahmer’s crimes when he started serving his sentence in 1992, and he subsequently became fixated on murdering him. He said,
I’ve done a lot of bad things in my life that wouldn’t make my family too proud. I thought that if I killed him, I could make up for some of the bad things I had done.
In light of the fact that the majority of Dahmer’s victims were impoverished people of black, Latino, or Asian origin, he said,
At the time I thought I had nothing to lose, I was facing years in prison that seemed like a life sentence. I wanted to kill him for my family and for the black community.
