As a result of these revelations, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to reassign Sharma from her position as Tehsildar. Government sent her notice and now she will serve in the Personnel Department in Shimla. Oshin Sharma’s family moved to Dharamshala when her father was stationed there, though she was born and raised in Bharmour in the Chamba district. In January 2022, she became a member of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service, also known as HAS after two attempts.
She went to the Raj Malhotra IAS Academy Chandigargh. She did her schooling from DAV Lakkar Bazaar, Shimla and got 80% in 12th and then went to RMKV Shimla while she did her Msc in Chemistry (Honors) from the Panjab University.
Her father Bhuvnesh Sharma served as the Naib Tehsildar and mother Sundri Sharma was the PA to DA of the district Kangra. She has a younger brother named Aabha Sharma and a brother named Pranav Sharma who did his LLB from the Chandigarh University.
Oshin married Vishal Nehriyan, a Dharamshala-based BJP MLA, on April 25, 2021. She later charged Vishal with torture and assault. Since then, the pair has been formally separated.
Oshin alleged that Nehariya had also beaten her in a hotel in Chandigarh in February before marriage and also slapped her family members. Not only this, she had alleged that when she was found Covid19 positive four days after the marriage, the MLA husband threw her out of their house.
Oshin Sharma disclosed in an interview that her original goal was not to enter the civil services.
Her initial goal was to work as a journalist. Because of her excellent academic record, her family urged her to seek a job in the civil services. Their dream was for her to become a civil servant.
