This week, professional Dominican basketball player Oscar Cabrera Adames died after suffering a possible heart attack during a stress test.

Héctor Gómez, a Dominican sports commentator, posted on social media that the 28-year-old was undergoing a stress test in Santo Domingo. According to the American Heart Association, the condition may damage the heart and its electrical system, reducing the heart’s capacity to pump blood.

As per Cabreer Adames, Myocarditis is thought to have been the cause of his death. Following his passing, Cabrera Adames’ claims appeared on social media that he contracted the rare cardiac condition after receiving two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.

Adames took to his social media account and said, “I got a damn Myocarditis from taking a f****ng vaccine; I got two doses of Pfizer, and I knew it! So many people warned me about it.” He further added that the vaccine was his work requirement.

He continued, “But guess what? It was compulsory, or I could not work. I am an international professional athlete, and I’m playing in Spain. I have no health problems—nothing hereditary, no asthma, absolutely nothing! I suddenly collapsed to the ground in the middle of a match and almost died. I am still recovering, and I have had eleven different cardiology tests done, and guess what? They find nothing.”

In 2021, Cabrera Adames collapsed during a game in the Spanish Amateur Basketball League. He passed out during the game and was later taken on a stretcher to the hospital.

According to the Mayo Clinic, “A stress test was intended to demonstrate how the heart responds to physical exertion.” Medical workers typically connect electrodes to the patient’s chest during the test. The heart’s electrical activity is then captured by a machine.
