After this post, and in response to public backlash, Husainova made her social media accounts private, but her comment had already been captured in screenshots and circulated on the internet.

StopAntisemitism, a non-profit watchdog, shared a screenshot of the post on social media platform X and asked, “Is this vile antisemite to your employee @Citi?”

Citibank, upon becoming aware of the situation, terminated Husainova’s employment.

Who’s Nozima Husainova?

She is a 25-year-old personal banker working at Citibank’s Wall Street branch in the financial district of lower Manhattan, New York City. She had been employed at the bank since June 2021, after graduating from CUNY Brooklyn College with a degree in BBA – finance.

Husainova’s role at Citibank, as indicated on her now-deleted LinkedIn page, was to build customer relationships, foster loyalty, and increase sales to individual consumer clients.

Regarding her social media presence, Husainova had over 4,500 followers on Instagram before making her account private. In a subsequent Instagram Story, she commented on the bombing of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza, attributing it to Israel.

Citibank Released Statement 

Afterward, Nozima Husainova seemingly endorsed the mass murder during the Holocaust by making the statement about Hitler and Jews. Citibank issued a statement condemning her remarks and terminated her employment, stating their intolerance for anti-Semitism and hate speech.

However, as of now, Nozima Husainova has not made any public comments about her job termination.

It’s worth noting that Nozima Husainova’s firing occurred during a period when there were discussions about business executives refusing employment to Harvard students who signed a letter accusing Israel of involvement in the conflict with Hamas.
