According to a story from The Times, exciting English winger Noni Madueke may be on the verge of moving to Stamford Bridge. After leaving the Tottenham Hotspur academy, the PSV forward joined the team in 2019. However, for a cost of £27 million, the winger may be signed by London rivals Chelsea.

Who is Noni Madueke?

Chukwunonso Tristan Madueke, better known as Noni Madueke, was born in Barnet, England, on March 10, 2002. Noni Madueke was the fourth child born into a household of four, with simply his sister and his parents.

Noni was born in an underprivileged area of a London suburb. His parents struggled to carry out their daily tasks because of their poor money.

The 20-year-old midfielder’s first name, Chukwunonso, which may also be spelt Chinonso, inspired the nickname “Noni.” Ch’inon’so was reversed to form Noni.

Noni Madueke’s Nigerian origin can be interpreted simply from his name. The Igbo are a well-known African tribe that he comes from on both sides. Eastern Nigeria is home to the Igbos, who speak a distinctive language.

Noni Madueke has dual citizenship despite being of Nigerian descent due to his English birth.

Noni Madueke’s father helped him with his football career. He first started playing neighbourhood football in the streets of Barnet. He started to play for King George FC after they relocated to Welwyn Garden City.

He soon caught the attention of scouts from Crystal Palace who were impressed by his talent after seeing him excel in a nearby London competition. Following his successful trial with the squad, he signed on.

Noni received a call from Tottenham Hotspur after two years. He relocated to the Spurs academy with his parents’ agreement. He received the honour of being chosen the captain of the Spurs academy not long after scoring 25 goals in 22 games during his debut season with the club.

He was then chosen to represent England at the u16 level. Noni Madueke chose to join for PSV in the Netherlands shortly after, despite interest from prominent English clubs. Prior to being promoted to the first squad and given the number 10 jersey in the Netherlands, he began playing for Jong PSV, PSV’s junior team.

Madueke currently earns €13,462 gross per week.
