Delhi Police has apprehended two persons in connection with the incident, out of which one is a school dropout and the two held have been identified as Rahul who is a 1st year BA student and his friend Haroon who is a school dropout.

According to police sources, Nikhil was assaulted by four individuals. They launched a ruthless attack, repeatedly stabbing him before they hastily fled the scene. The injured student was immediately transported to Charak Palika Hospital in Moti Bagh, but sadly, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

19 year Nikhil was a first-year student at Aryabhatta College, pursuing his passion for political science through the School of Open Learning. In response to the horrifying incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Manoj C, confirmed that a murder case has been registered at the South Campus police station and investigations are underway.
Unraveling the motive behind Nikhil Chauhan murder
Preliminary investigations have unveiled a possible motive behind this ruthless act. Seven days prior to the murder, Nikhil had a confrontation with a fellow student who had behaved inappropriately with his girlfriend. It is suspected that this fatal assault was a revenge attack orchestrated by the student Nikhil had previously confronted.
On the ill-fated day, the primary suspect, accompanied by three others, ambushed Nikhil outside the college gate, delivering the fatal blows.
A family’s plea for justice
In the wake of his son’s untimely and violent death, Sanjay Chauhan, Nikhil’s father, expressed his sorrow and demanded swift justice. He shared his heartbreaking experience of receiving the news of his son’s stabbing and subsequently being told of his demise upon reaching the hospital.
“I demand that the accused should be nabbed at the earliest and stringent action should be taken against them,” said a grief-stricken Sanjay.
The hunt for the accused in Nikhil Chauhan murder continues
At the moment, Delhi Police are working hard to find the people they think are behind this horrible crime. They were able to figure out who the charged students were, and it turned out that they all went to the same college as Nikhil.
Specialised teams are looking at the CCTV video from the area around the crime scene to try to figure out a clear order of events that will help catch and convict the people who did it.
The unfortunate loss of a promising student
Nikhil, who was also a part-time model and appeared in music videos, is survived by his two brothers and parents residing in the Paschim Vihar area. His untimely death has not only left a void in his family but has also sent shockwaves across the Delhi University community.
