The New Zealand cricket women’s team won their first-ever T20 World Cup in Dubai after an incredible week. As seen by their one victory in 13 Twenty20 Internationals going into this World Cup edition, they demonstrated that pre-tournament form is not very important.

Their batting at both ends of the innings set the foundation for this title win, and the bowlers then removed South Africa’s star player, Laura Wolvaardt, early on and imposed a middle-overs pressure that the opposing team was unable to escape. Amelia Kerr won the runners-up gold for the second consecutive T20 World Cup, showcasing her skills with the bat and the ball.
