Nelli Tembe was the cousin of the South African media personality Nondumiso Tembe who is an award-winning actress, singer, songwriter, and dancer. Nelli was a chef and a businesswoman.
Months after Aka’s public break up with his baby mama, Ntombezinhle ‘DJ Zinhle’ Jiyane, he revealed his relationship with Tembe. His relationship with another woman DJ Zinhle came to an end barely a year after their romance.
On the 21st of February in 2021, AKA whose real name is Kiernan Forbes confirmed his engagement with the “love of his life” Nelli Tembe. Nellie revealed that she said yes and addressed AKA as the “love of my life.”

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was born on the 28th of January in 1988 and unfortunately died on the 10th of February in 2023 and is well known by his stage name AKA. He was a South African rapper. Born and raised in Cape Town, Forbes gained recognition after releasing his single “Victory Lap” from his debut studio album, Altar Ego in 2010.
Forbes continued his success by releasing his studio albums which include Levels in 2014, Touch My Blood in 2018, Bhovamania in 2020, and the collaborative album with Anatii, titled Be Careful What You Wish For in 2017. In April of 2018, Forbes was featured as a special guest on the WWE Live events, which were held in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
On the 10th of February 2023, Forbes was shot dead outside of a restaurant based in Durban.
This comes just under two years after the death of the rapper’s former fiancée Nelli Tembe who plunged to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepper Club Hotel, in Cape Town, during the early hours of the morning on 11 April 2021. AKA later moved on from Nelli with rapper Nadia Nakai.
