Speaking to the media, Highway Safety Police (HSP) stated the deceased, Neha Chauhan, had traveled to Parbhani to apprehend a suspect wanted in a cybercrime case. She passed away on the spot, while the other members of her team—ASI Sukhvinder Singh, head constable Bitthu Jagda, Bolero driver Shammi Kumar, and accused Vaidyanath Shinde—were wounded.
Although Wardha’s Superintendent of Police Nurul Hasan refused to discuss the incident in detail, sources within the Wardha police told the media that Chauhan and her team had just arrested the suspect and were returning when the accident happened.

Who was Neha Chauhan?
Neha Chauhan was an Indian police officer from the state of Haryana. She has been in the news because she passed away recently in a tragic road accident in Maharashtra.
She was born Neha Wadhwa in Shahabad, Markanda, India. However, at the time of her death, she was living in Panchkula, India. While not much is known about her family, it is known that she has a brother named Monu Wadhwa.
After completing her schooling, she attended Punjab University, Chandigarh. She is married, and her husband’s name is Amit Chauhan. At the time of her death, she was 41 years old.
Her career
Neha Chauhan was an inspector in the Haryana Police. At the time of her death, she was assigned to the very first women’s police station in Panchkula, which opened its doors in 2015. She was also a hockey player and won the gold medal for India in the U18 hockey Asian Cup 2000.
Cause of death of Neha Chauhan
The inspector passed away after her police jeep collided with a truck in Maharashtra. A police officer with the Wardha Police Department revealed that during the accident, the deceased Police Inspector Neha Chauhan was seated in the front passenger seat of the official Bolero SUV.
The vehicle was being driven by Home Guards Constable Sunny Kumar, with Assistant Sub Inspector Savinder Singh, Police Constable Bittu Jagda, and the arrested accused, Baijnath Shinde, seated in the back.
He added that the police jeep was in the second lane when a truck in the third lane abruptly switched lanes and collided with the Bolero’s rear, causing severe damage and leaving a portion of its chassis lodged inside the SUV.
