Is Neel Acharya declared dead?
The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s office released a news release over the weekend stating that a male individual was discovered deceased in the vicinity of Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories. According to police files, Purdue police received a call at approximately 10:30 p.m. reporting that a white guy was lying on the embankment outside 500 Allison Road and was not moving.
As of Monday morning, the male college student’s identity had not been made public by the coroner. Robert Wang, a Zucrow Labs research assistant, claims that a graduate student working with a team headed by Dr. Steven Son discovered the body. According to the announcement, Purdue police are seeking to contact the next of kin and obtain identification. As of now, they have proceeded with a forensic autopsy.
However, a Reddit post by someone claiming to know the missing person states that the last known position Neel Acharya’s phone pinged was in the same area where the body was recovered. The relationship between the two occurrences has not been established.
We will update this article when additional information becomes available.
