The people who work on the CBS crime show NCIS recently took a moment to remember Billy Mac, who was a much-loved member of their team
The touching tribute to Billy Mac was shown at the end of the most recent episode of season 20. It came after an exciting episode in which the team investigated an act of bioterrorism and Knight’s father was in danger in Japan.

Billy ‘Mac’ Mclaughlin had worked as a propman on the show for many years, helping to bring the drama to life by ensuring that sets were properly dressed and that actors had the correct props on-hand for certain scenes. He passed away in February 2023, with first assistant director Paul Snider sharing the news on his Instagram account on February 24.

Following Snider’s post, fellow members of the crew shared their own tributes to Billy Mac, with makeup artist June Bracken describing him as a “good man with a kind heart” who always made them laugh, especially on St Patrick’s Day.
Cameraman Christos Bitsakos added that Billy was “one of those guys that you just want to be around and always had your back” said cameraman Christos Bitsakos. Co-executive producer and supervising producer Avery Drewe praised his creativity and good attitude on set.
Mac’s family and friends have chosen to keep the cause of his death private and his demise was publicized by Paul Snider.

During its 20 seasons and over 450 episodes, the CBS crime drama NCIS has formed a close-knit family among its cast and crew. They showed the tribute at the end of episode 16 of season 20, immediately following the first few names in the closing credits.
A touching title card filled the screen, featuring an image of Billy Mac wearing an enormous green felt top hat for St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
This was alongside the message: “In memory of our dear friend and colleague, Billy Mac. We will miss you.” Drewe shared their own tribute to Billy Mac on social media, saying that there was no single image that could capture his spirit.
