The incident took place on 3 November 2025 during the sash ceremony in Thailand, where Itsaragrisil challenged Bosch over her absence from a photo shoot promoting Thailand as the host country. When Bosch defended her actions by saying that she was simply following her national director’s instructions, Itsaragrisil interrupted, saying:
No, you must listen to me first, then argue with me.”
He then told her that she was being a “dumbhead” for following orders instead of listening to him. In response, Bosch and several contestants, including reigning Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Kjær Theilvig, seemingly left the ceremony.

In response to the incident, the MUO issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to “diversity, empowerment, and inclusion.” They confirmed that a high-level delegation was heading to Thailand to coordinate with local organizers and ensure that all events proceeded as planned. While speaking in a video message, MUO President Raul Rocha Cantu said:
Respect and dignity toward women must never be violated… hosting means serving delegates, not commanding them.”
The organization has seemingly restricted Itsaragrisil from further event duties pending internal review.

Nawat Itsaragrisil started as a television host back in the 1990s and moved into pageant management as director of Miss Thailand World (2007-12).
