Naor Gilon’s Family And Education
Naor was born in Israel and he received his BA in political science at the University of Tel Aviv and his Master’s degree is from summa cum laude in international relations at the Corvinus University of Budapest. Later on, Naor got married to his love of life and they together have 4 children.
Naor Gilon Professional Career
Naor Gilon joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989 and there he worked as the deputy chief of missions at the Embassy of Israel in Hungary in 1990 to 1995. Also he was the deputy foreign policy advisor to the prime minister in 1995 to 1997 and counselor for political affairs at the permanent mission to the United Nations in 1997 to 2000. Naor Gilon served as director of the Division for Strategic and Military Affairs in the Center for Policy Research in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000 to 2002.
Being a minister-counselor for political affairs at the Embassy, Israel in Washington, Naor Gilon was the subject of the FBI investigations into the Lawrence Franklin espionage scandal. This scandal involved the leaking of classified information by an employee at the United States Department of Defense.
In 2009, Naor served as chief of staff to Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman and as the deputy director general for the Western Europe division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2009 to 2011. Further, in 2021, it was declared that he would be the new ambassador of Israel to India. On the 27th of October, Naor presented his credentials to the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
