Who is Namrata Bora as Assam lawyer dies in car accident in Meghalaya, biography, age, parents, photos and Instagram
A shroud of mystery has enveloped the death of 25-year-old law intern Namrata Bora, a native of Assam’s Golaghat district, following a car accident near Nongpoh in Meghalaya in the early hours of June 5. Namrata, who was pursuing her law internship in Guwahati and staying in a rented house in Rukminigaon, had travelled to Shillong and the group was returning from a sunrise outing when their SUV (AS01ED9578) driven by Anayatul, met with an accident at around 4:15 a.m. at Changbangla in Ri-Bhoi district.
Anayatul and Gayatri allegedly fled the scene, leaving others and local passersby to arrange help and Namrata’s father Ramen Bora and brother Rishabhananda Bora have filed FIRs at both Nongpoh and Dispur Police Stations, questioning the inconsistencies in the narratives given by the survivors. The FIR alleges that Anayatul, after the accident, fled with the vehicle, leaving Namrata critically injured and was later transported to the hospital in a tourist cab by the remaining friends and locals.

The family of Namrata Bora has filed a formal complaint (FIR) claiming foul play and rejected the accident scenario. Raja Raghuvanshi, a newlywed guy from Indore who vanished during his honeymoon in the East Khasi Hills, is the subject of another murder mystery that has rocked Meghalaya. Sonam Raghuvanshi, his wife was caught in Uttar Pradesh for plotting his murder after his body was discovered in a ravine.
Namrata Bora, a law intern residing in Rukminigaon, Guwahati, had traveled to Shillong with three other people, Mriganka Bora, Pragya Dihingia, and Gayatri Bora; and Anayatul Wadud, a young leader of the AIUDF and the son of party MLA, Hafiz Bashir. According to reports, the group was on its way back from Shillong when their car crashed in the Changbangla region at approximately 4:15 AM.
Namrata was accompanied by five individuals during the trip, including Anayatul Wadud, who was driving the car.
Namrata was pronounced dead at Nongpoh Civil Hospital, while the other four were only slightly hurt.
According to one of the survivors, her oxygen level had dropped to 13% upon reaching the hospital and the Meghalaya police have since detained the four individuals for questioning and conducted a post-mortem at Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
Namrata Bora was a talented young lawyer from Dhodang Gaon, Bokakhat, who passed away under unfortunate circumstances in Meghalaya.
Namrata Bora’s family is alleging foul play, citing unusual circumstances surrounding her departure as they stated that her flat in Rukminigaon, Guwahati, was left open when she left for Shillong, which they find suspicious. Her family also stated that Namrata never went out without informing them.
Meanwhile, a video has emerged from the night of the incident. The video, taken inside the car, shows loud music playing with Namrata visible in the back seat. Anayatul Wadud, an MLA’s son, is seen in the driver’s seat along with other people.
2/5 Namrata left her Guwahati home at 1:30 AM on June 3 without informing anyone. She even left behind her phone, something she never did.

All four friends were named as suspects in a complaint submitted to the Nongpoh Police Station by Namrata’s brother, Rishabhananda Bora. Additionally, her relatives filed a supplementary FIR at the Assamese Dispur Police Station. While the others escorted Namrata to the hospital, they wondered why two of the companions, Anayatul and Gayatri, had left the area.
Namrata’s father, Ramen Bora, said, “On Tuesday, she called from her room, and on Wednesday morning, I received a call saying that she was in an accident and died while returning from Shillong.”
He added, “When I contacted Mriganka, he handed the phone to Pragya, who said they had gone to see the sunrise when a vehicle hit them while overtaking another car. They claimed Namrata was critically injured and admitted to the hospital.”
