Muralikrishnan Gopynathan Nair aka Murali Gopy, is an Indian actor, screenwriter, playback singer, lyricist, journalist, author who was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 4 March 1972 in a Hndu family in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is the son of Jayalakshmy and the well-known actor Bharath Gopi. Gowri and Gowrav are his two children from his marriage to Anjana Pillai. Anjana passed away after a heart attack on April 26, 2015, at the age of 38 due to a cardiac arrest and in honour of his father, Bharath Gopi, Murali has created a website.
After earning a postgraduate degree in journalism from the Institute of Journalism, Thiruvananthapuram, Murali Gopy began working as a reporter and subeditor for The New Indian Express in 1995.

Murali Gopy worked as a features editor and subeditor for The Hindu. After that, he moved to the United Arab Emirates and started working as the main subeditor for the sports publications Sports Today and Cleanbowled for Arab-Allied Media in Dubai. He was named MSN India Entertainment’s chief editor in 2008. He left the position in 2012 to focus more on his film career.
Murali writes both short stories and screenplays. At the age of 19, he had his first short tale, “Ayur Rekha,” published in Kalakaumudi in 1991. He has been said that he began writing stories to cheer up his father, the actor Bharat Gopy, who suffered a severe stroke in 1986 and became incapacitated. Mathrubhumi Books has released a collection of his stories called Murali Gopiyude Kadhakal, of which the third edition is currently available.
Additionally, he has drawn drawings for DC Books, Kalakaumudi, and The Hindu. Rasikan (2004), a film directed by Lal Jose, marked the scriptwriter, actor, and singer Murali Gopy’s debut. Because of its creative way of tying storylines together, Murali’s 2012 film Ee Adutha Kaalathu is regarded as a pioneer in Malayalam cinema.
Murali has composed music for numerous motion pictures. His songs “Kalippu” in Premam, “The LRL Anthem” in Left Right Left, “Pakalinu Veyil” in 1 by Two, and “Bham Bham Shiv Bole” in Tiyaan were all huge hits. His performance of “LRL Anthem” got him the Asiavision Movie Award for The New Sensation in Singing.
