About Munkhbayar Dorjsuren

Dorjsuren, born in Mongolia, has a history of guiding Indian shooters to glory. She previously trained Rahi Sarnobat, who won gold at the 2018 Asian Games.

Dorjsuren took over as the foreign coach of the Indian national pistol shooting team at the 2022 ISSF World Cup in Changwon, Korea.

Dorjsuren, who won bronze medals in the 25m pistol event at both the 1992 Barcelona and 2008 Beijing Olympics, brings a wealth of experience. She also trained Rahi Sarnobat, who created history for becoming the first Indian shooter to win gold at the Asian Games.

Career

Born on July 9, 1969, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Dorjsuren later moved to Germany and became a German citizen. She competed in the 25 m and 10 m air pistol events, winning a bronze medal for Mongolia in the 1992 Olympics and for Germany in the 2008 Olympics.

After competing in the Sydney Olympics in 2000, she moved to Germany and became a German citizen in 2002. In June 2013, she requested to regain her Mongolian citizenship.

Dorjsuren has an illustrious career, having competed in six Summer Olympics. She represented Mongolia at the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Games, earning a bronze medal in the womenโ€™s 25-meter pistol at the 1992 Olympics. She also won the 1998 ISSF World Shooting Championship title in the 10-meter air pistol for Mongolia.

After becoming a German citizen, Dorjsuren represented Germany at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics.

She won the 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships in the 25 metre pistol while representing Germany and gold in the Milan leg of the 2009 ISSF World Cup in the 25 metre pistol category.
